Since day 1 of this blog, I knew I had to dedicate a post to my sisters. When you have so many, it is almost impossible not to talk about them as they are one of the best parts of my life. They are also my most dedicated followers together with L, I partly owe my commitment to this blog to their support. They’ve known me forever (mostly because I’m the oldest) and still love me, even though they know all my flaws.
Of course, it is not always easy to deal with 4 women in the house. Sometimes you just wish they stopped talking or that they were less complex and stubborn. You need to learn how to listen to them and cherish them without making them feel like they are less important than the other ones, which is not an easy task. However, I could not imagine my life without them, their laughter, their hugs and their tears. Sometimes I feel so lucky I didn’t even have to look around and make an effort to find these 4 amazing lifetime friends – plus my brother, but this post is only about the women in the house. We grew up together, travelled together and have always felt part of this special group, something like Desperate Housewives or Sex and the City with lots of drama, shopping, chatting and, most of all, love.
Let me introduce you to my sisters now.
M is the exact opposite of me: she loves everything I don’t and I love everything she hates. I take a decision in a few seconds, she needs days. She is a nurse and I faint each time I see a needle. I’ve never studied for more than 2 hours in a row, she is a diligent student who recently graduated with the highest marks. That is why I like to take into consideration her advice because she sees the world from a whole different perspective. She sees what my eyes neglect. At the moment, she is being extremely helpful in my wedding planning and I’m very grateful for that.
A is the talkative and friendly one. She shares the interest for foreign languages with me and she loves a good chat sitting on her bed late at night before going to sleep. She smiles and laughs a lot, she has an incredible number of dresses in her wardrobe
and she will hate me for writing that. She will also marry a very rich man and help us all with our finances (that’s the plan she had in mind since she was a teenager, not sure if she still remembers it). C, on the other hand, is quite introverted and practical: if there’s a problem, she will find the solution. If there’s a leaking tap, she will fix it. Nonetheless, she still bursted into tears when I told her I was getting married and I love this emotional side of hers. C also has a broad culture when it comes to movies and TV series, which is quite handy at times.
Finally, there’s L, our little star. We look quite the same, sometimes when we go through old pictures the only way to tell who’s who is by looking at the year when the photo was taken. She’s very strong and independent, we all love her character. She likes to travel, she’s gorgeous and very determined. She’s the person I talk to when I need a lesson on self-esteem. She’s my younger self with even stronger bones.
So this is our team, I have to say I love them to bits and could not go through life without them and our amazing little brother. Last time we saw each other was at the end of October to celebrate my brother’s First Communion and Confirmation – that is when L took the pics you see in this post. We keep in touch every day, but still, I can’t wait to see them again soon, for another happy hour together.
I just wanted to write a short presentation of my family because I always end up mentioning them in my more personal posts, I hope this serves as a guide for future posts. Thank you for following me and for taking the time to read this post!
